Current profile

From 1993 to 1994, Uwe Siegner joined the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a postdoctoral fellow.

Starting in 1995 he worked as a senior scientist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland, where he received the habilitation degree in experimental physics in 1999.

In April 1999, Uwe Siegner joined the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig, Germany.

In April 2000, he became head of the Femtosecond Metrology Group. This group was concerned with the development of ultrafast electrical measurement techniques for the Terahertz range of the electromagnetic spectrum.

In July 2003, Uwe Siegner became the head of the Semiconductor Physics and Magnetism Department at the PTB. His current research interests include semiconductor quantum standards, single electron transport in semiconductors, nanomagnetism and magnetic imaging as well as ultrafast electronics and optics.
