The Graduate School consists of up to 50 students, senior scientists which act as advisors and the management. All these members form the plenary meeting and will meet at least once per year to discuss scientific advances as well as organizational issues.

It consists of the chairman (speaker), the course director, three members from TU Braunschweig, three members from PTB and two student representatives. The management board is responsible for the operation of the school, including all scientific and teaching activities, recruitment and selection of student members, financial matters and public relations.
The speaker is responsible for external representation and leads B-IGSM. The current speaker is Prof. Dr. Meinhard Schilling, Institut für Messtechnik und Grundlagen der Elektrotechnik, TU Braunschweig.
The course director supports the speaker in his/her tasks. The tasks include in particular the planning and coordination of the curriculum. Furthermore, the course director acts as general advisor and contact for the PhD students. The current course director is Dr. habil. Corinna Kroner, PTB.
The B-IGSM office provides additional support in all practical and organizational matters.
